Mary Jo Lafaye is a Reverse Mortgage Consultant and manager of Security One Lending’s Palo Alto, California branch. Prior to joining Security One, Mary Jo spent five years with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in a similar capacity. While with Wells Fargo, Mary Jo was one of the nation’s top reverse mortgage professionals, earning numerous awards, including Top Jumbo Reverse Mortgage Producer, Leader’s Club member (in 2005 and 2007).

Mary Jo is a well-known expert in reverse mortgages – she has taught Reverse Mortgage Concepts to real estate students at the College of San Mateo and also has been asked to provide instruction on reverse mortgages for realtors seeking Senior Real Estate Specialist designation. She is also a noted speaker and expert, and has delivered literally hundreds of seminars, talks and speeches to groups throughout the Peninsula, ranging from the Retired Firemen’s Association, Kaiser Permanente, San Mateo and Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, and the Rotary Club.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Mary Jo grew up and was educated in Houston. In her spare time, she enjoys bicycling, cooking, hiking, traveling and she’s also fluent in Spanish, having traveled extensively throughout Mexico.

Mary Jo lives in Half Moon Bay with her two daughters.
